The newly elected committee of America Bangladesh Press Club (ABPC) has been sworn in. ABPC is an organization of Bangladeshi professional journalists in the United States. The Oath ceremony was held at Itzi Chinese Party Hall in Jackson Heights on the evening of January 14.
Chief Election Commissioner Poet Mishuk Selim administered the oath to the newly elected committee members. The program was chaired by acting president of America Bangladesh Press Club Mir E Wajid Shibli and conducted by general secretary Shahidul Islam. Zahid Sharif, one of the members of the Election Commission was present at that time.
The newly elected committee of ABPC is- President Mir E Wajid Shibli, Senior vice President Akbar Haider Kiran, General Secretary Mizanur Rahman, Joint General Secretary Riju Mohammad, Publicity Secretary Nihar Siddiqui, and Executive Members are- Shahidul Islam, Muhammad Shahidullah, Amjad Hossain. Vice president Shabbir Ahmed, treasurer Sajjad Hossain and organizing secretary Farhana Chowdhury also took oath virtually.
Before oath, Chief Election Commissioner Poet Mishuk Selim said, We have conducted the election by the constitution of America Bangladesh Press Club. The Chief Election Commissioner expressed his gratitude to all those who cooperated in the election.
Election Commission member Zahid Sharif said, There is no reason to misunderstand. Because we have conducted the election according to the constitution. However, some ambitious officials of our organization are trying to create disunity in the organization due to their interests.
The second part of the program was presided over by President Mir E Wajid Shibli and conducted by General Secretary Mizanur Rahman. The newly elected President and General Secretary expressed their gratitude to all. They thanked the Election Commission.
